We’re stoked to have wine-grower Christopher Howell joining us for five courses, prepared by chef Lamont Periman, and five wines from one of my favorites in the Napa Valley AVA.
Just in time for autumn we’ll be drinking five reds in this workshop. You’ll get a chance to try the three current releases and two older vintages. One of the things that struck me about Cain wines is their complex, savory character. The word umami comes to mind. Notes of soy sauce, beef broth, and mushroom pull me into the glass, and you can bet chef Lamont is inspired to match these great wines with his own take on savory foods.
These wines a dynamic, with gorgeous California fruit, and an earthiness that rivals Bordeaux.
